Warsop Alert is part of the Neighbourhood Alert system for Nottinghamshire. Register for updates of news and report incidents online so the police can gather intelligence for our area and use it to make Warsop a safer place. Once you report suspicious activity online, the police team can access your information and may use it to piece together events that solve a crime. When you are logged into the system you can see if your information has been accessed or used by the police. You will see graphs and charts regarding incidents reported by people on your road/street and see a progress report of the number of incidents that have been investigated and/or have led to arrests and/or convictions.

Three options were presented at a meeting of the Fire Authority on the 24th June. It was agreed that Option 2 should be consulted on.
Option 1 - Close Edwinstowe and base a full time crew at Ollerton Development Centre in 2012/2013 and close Warsop in 2013/2014
Option 2 - Upgrade Edwinstowe to a full time station in 2012/2013 and to close the second Retained pump at Mansfield, and no changes to Warsop.
Option 3 - Upgrade Edwinstowe to a full time station in 2012/2013 and no changes to the cover from Warsop.
A minimum of 12 weeks consultation period will now begin with staff, other agencies and the public etc. and the results of the consultation will be given in a further meeting in December. Decisions and plans will then be implemented and drawn up.

A surgery for Council housing enquiries in Warsop will take place at Warsop Town Hall, from 9.30am to 12noon every Wednesday. The surgery will deal with all general housing enquiries, housing benefit forms and Moveahead housing applications. There will be no need for customers to make an appointment. The number of users of the surgery will be closely monitored and extra sessions may be put on in the future if there is sufficient demand.

Mansfield District Council started publishing details of all it’s spending of over £500 with external suppliers from 31st January. The move is in line with the government requirement for all Councils to publish their spending data to encourage greater transparency and accountability with residents and to promote greater efficiency. The first document published lists every transaction of over £500 made between 1 April and 31 December 2010.
