Oxford Landing - Chardonnay - South Australia - from the Yalumba winery - ASDA

The label say's
A combination of fertile soil and abundant sunshine enables Oxford Landing to produce Chardonnay of great richness and
depth. Tropical fruit, melons and figs combine with attractive nutty characters and toasty vanillin oak to make this a full flavoured dry wine. A classic Australia Chardonnay which exhibits a myriad of flavour sensations.

Carol say's
Don't know what they mean by "toasty vanillin oak" and after a couple of glasses who cares? This is a very drinkable wine. I first encountered it whilst on a training course in Bristol, when. I bought a bottle from the local Tesco, on offer at £3.95, then ordered a bottle with dinner at my hotel and paid £19.50 for it (was I gobsmacked). I am now delighted to find that ASDA are stocking it for less than a fiver. This is my kind of wine, versatile enough to accompany any meal and equally as nice as a social drink. If, like me, you find red wine a little too heavy for the summer, and want something a little more refreshing, this is the one for you.

Tipsy Trio Say
We don't remember what the question was, but we think that white wine has to come out of the fridge and didn't even consider trying this at room temperature. Green apples and gooseberries are the flavours we experienced from this delightfully crisp, clean and refreshing wine.

Out of a possible 10, the Tipsy Trio awarded Oxford Landing Chardonnay an overall score of 8.
8 thumbs up logoThis wine will cool you on the muggiest summer evening and will compliment almost any meal you care to dish up. We disagreed about whether it was robust enough to take a curry, but were all willing to try it again. What do you think?

Best Local Buy's

Tribal White, Cape White, South African - Kwiksave, Warsop Western Wines are the importers of Tribal White and other popular wines such as Kumala and Out of Africa (very nice, but a little more expensive).

Hungarian Chardonnay - Duna Region - ASDA, Woodhouse - Bottled for Asda, a wine that is easy to drink as an aperitif. The 'Dry' is much nicer than the 'Medium'. It doesn't need anything with it though it goes well with most light foods. It is crisp, clean and refreshing enough to cool on a summer's evening and yet will go down well at a party in winter. An all year round winner at a good price!Image of white wine bottle

French Connection - Grenache Sauvignon Blanc - ASDA, Woodhouse - A dry white, crisp and fresh, ideal for drinking as an aperitif or with light foods - good with cheese. Iif you're having a cheese and wine party this is definitely one to go for, though I like it on its own as well. This is one of the best French wines I've tasted for a long time and I'm quite impressed with it. It could be one for the tipsy trio to try out.

French Connection are combining the tastes of traditional French wines with modern 'New World' tastes. Wines are grown and bottled in France using modern, rather than traditional techniques and overseen by Australian winemakers.
