Excellent Sunday Dinner, Very fresh, cooked to perfection and lots of it. Had to wait a while but it was the opening day so couldn't complain really.

A family of three generations ate whilst I was present and were obviously comfortable. Being the Sunday Menu I only had the choice of beef lamb or pork. I went for the pork and it was served up minus apple sauce which I had asked for. After ten minutes the waitress came with a tiny pot with a smear of apple sauce covering the bottom. She apologised for the meagre amount saying, "Sorry the jar was nearly empty - this from a kitchen putting out roast pork as a speciality. On the whole a bit rough and ready but at least all the waitresses wore matching clothes including smiles. Total cost including my pint of shandy £6.50.

Very high marks here but I'm a bit of a specialist on Chinese food and Winner City gives you the full treatment. It's a fair run from Warsop but being a big restaurant tables should be easily gettable and there is a very large car park. The staff make a fuss over small children and gave me the opinion all were welcome. Many Chinese places now charge extra for rice instead of it being part of the meal, it happens here - another £2.00 slipped onto the bill when it need not be done. I live on a limited budget and Winner City took me over the limit but the food was good. An extra special place to go on odd occasions........

I visited on Sunday at Lunch time and got the feeling I was on a conveyor belt where bums were shifted off the seats as quickly as possible. The first time I have eaten a steak that was thinner than a normal rasher of bacon. As is usual getting a seat for one ends up with you being squashed in some corner or in this case being sat right in the centre of the room with constant bangs on my back from hurrying staff. I was in constant fear of a splash iof hot gravy shooting down my neck. Could be improved, don't take Granny.

I tried the Sunday menu and my only complaint was too much meat was piled onto my plate.

I only have oner grunt here, this is the first time after eating in restaurants all over the world where instead of being given a napkin i was presented with two sheets torn from a roll of kitchen towel. Not the right place to take a new girl friend if you are trying to impress.

This is a pub style restaurant with a bar area downstairs where you can eat. The upstairs is a restaurant with good home cooked food - well worth a visit.

Another one that I've tried on my trips to Warsop. It's next to the bridge over the River Derwent, with a little primary school on one side and the tea & craft shop on the other. It used to sell Kimberley Ales, but the sign has recently changed with no brewery shown. However, it seemed to have a good choice of real beers when we visited just before Christmas.

The food menu was pretty limited and all on a blackboard. Typical pub grub, odd steaks, scampi, pork chops, gammon, mixed grill, etc. Prices average, £5 up to £10. Food nothing special, again, typical pub fare with chips and salad or veg, but ok if you're in need of a stop.

It's quaint inside, olde worlde, not big but has log fires at this time of the year. It really comes into its own in the summer as it has a huge beer garden leading right down to the waters of the river wth loads of picnic tables and umbrellas. Nice to sit out and eat or just have a drink but can get busy on fine Sat & Sun afternoons. Plenty of parking, either in their car park or on the old road outside the pub and school.

One of the pubs that I've tried during my many journeys back and forth from Mc/r.

On the main street in Baslow, on the right it's the first building that you see as you come in from Chesterfield. Has a great beer garden and playground for the kids, with a restaurant in an added-on conservatory where you can see out over the garden and playground. If you want to get away from the crowd you can also eat in the pub with it's roaring log fire in winter. Good selection of beers (including Mansfield) and single malts.

Food is from an extensive menu, backed up with many specials on black boards around the walls. Light bite menu as well as usual options. Many traditional dishes such as lamb shank, gammon, hot-pots, steak and ale pie, fish courses and specials such as curries and spicy chicken dishes. Mostly typical pub food but with a few surprise specials. Order at your table, service has been mostly good but noticed the last time that a few young foreign girls have been employed as waiting-on staff, meaning you needed to ensure that they understood what you're ordering.

Food has been average to good on most occasions. No bad meals as yet. Portions have been good meaning that sweets have had to be overlooked!

Overall, a reasonable handily-placed pub to stop if you're passing. It's been nice and quiet in the evenings but I've noticed it very busy at weekend lunchtimes - when I've driven straight past! Plenty of car parking up the side of the building though, and they have 5-6 bedrooms that look ok on their leaflet, so you could have a weekend in the Peaks.

The whole experience of eating at the Mussel and Crab revolves around the relaxed atmosphere and the knowledgable, friendly staff. For fans of sea food you are in for a rare treat. The red mullet is fantastic. With a brilliant traditional menu it's a toss up between the two even for an avid fish fan. The steak is the best I've ever had. Not the cheapest but certainly one of the best restuarant's for miles around. Book a taxi, get dressed up and enjoy a real treat. Booking recommended Tel: 01777 870491.

On Andrew's recommendation I went to the Mussel and Crab - it was a great night and I'm saving up to go again! - Carol
