MINUTES of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on Monday 17th September 2007 in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Market Warsop.
Present: Cllrs. J. Kerr, (Chairman), S. Shields (Mansfield District Councillor),
P. Crawford (Mansfield District Councillor), S. Moody, B. Smith, D. Priest,
E. Hill and J. Heald.

7868. DECLARATIONS BY MEMBERS OF PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTEREST - The
Chairman drew the attention of Members to the requirement for them to declare
any personal or prejudicial interests related to agenda items. Cllr. S. Moody
declared that he is now Vice-chair of the Carnival Committee. Cllr. S. Sheilds
has joined the committee as Meden Vale Liaison. Declarations have been changed.

7869. MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING - The minutes of the last Parish Council meeting, on Monday 16th July, 2007, were circulated and accepted as a true record.
The Chairman closed the meeting to allow:
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
1. Suzy Rai, Bizfizz Coach for Warsop Parish gave a short talk on her role
in the community to support new businesses with professional advice and coaching
and asked that the Parish Council point people in her direction who are thinking
of going into business.
2. A member of the public raised concerns regarding the junction of Eastlands
Lane and the A60 he told the meeting that he along with many other drivers
turn left at the junction then turn round in the Carrs car park as it is too
dangerous to turn right. He asked that it be looked at as a matter of urgency
before a serious accident occurs.
THE MEETING WAS RECONVENED – The Chairman reconvened the meeting.
7870. MATTERS ARISING OUT OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
1. The Chairman thanked Suzi for coming and The Parish Council agreed to fully
support Suzy to help new businesses in the Parish.
2. Eastlands Lane/A60 - PC Paul Bacon echoed the concerns together with all
members present. The Chairman agreed to call a site meeting with NCC Highways
officers and asked that PC Bacon be present.
7871. CRIME AND DISORDER – PC Paul Bacon gave his report and told the meeting that he is looking at placing a dispersal order for the whole of the Parish with PC Dave Booler, the Warsop Team will be going into school assemblies to give talks and Warden Mark also suggested drinking zones in Warsop.
7872. WARSOP TOWN HALL – There has been no progress on this matter, it was agreed to write to Ruth Marlow to see if she has heard anything from NCC.
7873. PLANNING & APPLICATIONS - received up to 31st August
a. Oaklands – detached garage
b. Nettleworth Manor – proposed extensions & alterations
c. 15 Grove Road – single storey side extension
The Clerk read out applications that had been received after the agenda had
been set.
d. 37 Titchfield Street – extension & conservatory
e. 88 Stonebridge Lane – side extension
f. Hall Farm, Sookholme – barn conversion
g. Warsop Ex-Servicemen’s Club – side extension
Decisions made up to 7th September
a. 9 Greendale Close – conservatory & garage – granted
b. Mill Farm Cottage, Sookholme – conversion of existing stables –
granted
c. Nettleworth Manor – Vary condition of blockage to access onto A60
- granted
7874. CODE OF CONDUCT - It was unanimously agreed by all members present
to adopt the new Code of Conduct.
RESOLVED – Code of Conduct adopted
7875. GLEADTHORPE FARM – In the absence of Cllr. J. Allin, this item could not be discussed and will remain on the agenda for the next meeting.
7876. WARSOP CEMETERY – The letter and article in last week’s
CHAD was discussed at length and the Chairman reported that there had been
lots of meetings with MDC and progress has been made with work already started
on tidying it up.
Councillors are to keep up the pressure.
7877. WARSOP ROAD SAFETY GROUP – The representatives reported that
after several meetings with NCC progress is slow and they are not feeding
back to the group, agreements have been made at the meetings but NCC are not
supporting them.
The Chair asked if anyone new why the traffic calming measure were put in,
in the first place, was it public pressure? No one could answer him and he
said he would have a meeting with Cllr. J. Allin.
7878. WARSOP NMT & YOUTH COUNCIL – Cllr. S. Moody reported on the AGM and showed everyone the Community Award which for the first time has been presented to Sindy Saxton for all her work with the guiding movement. The Youth Council are to organise a meeting at The Market/Muso’s open to all youth in the Parish to come and discuss plans for a youth shelter
7879. MEDEN BATHS – Cllr. A. Wetton has spoken to John Mann MP, nothing will move forward until plans are available for the new build of Meden School but he will convene a meeting of the LSP soon.
7880. WARSOP AND DISTRICT NEWS – The Clerk reported that the October edition was almost ready to go to press with good article content again and some new advertisers. Cllr. S. Moody thanked Tania and Karen for their hard work in producing such an excellent newspaper. Karen is now on the Carnival Committee.
7881. MEDEN VALE 2000 – Minutes received for information only.

7884. MEDEN VALLEY MAKING PLACES – Each member received a copy of an update and a booklet entitled “The Story So Far”.

7887. MANSFIELD DISTRICT COUNCIL – Cllr. S. Moody asked if one of the District Councillors could make enquiries for another bottle bank, Warsop used to have 3 now there is only one and it is always overflowing.
7888. DATE OF NEXT MEETING - Monday 15th October, 2007.
