PARISH MEETING
held on the 18th March 2002 (previously circulated)
The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record.
6639. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Cllr A Wetton stated that this has been a hectic year, starting with the Parish
Council taking over the Warsop & District News. The previous Clerk, Steve
Bowman had set up the paper with a few ideas and the now present Clerk, Tania
Barlow has vastly improved the layout, features and advertising sections.
The major project of the year is the Top Cat/Scrooges Site which was an eyesore. The Parish Council facilitated the demolition of the building and then the buying of the land to present a clear area with the view to development.
A lot of Government monies are coming into Warsop and this will mean lots of changes. Warsop Parish Council has also been working closely with various groups supporting projects and discussing future changes for Warsop.
There have been hugely successful events supported by the Parish Council with the 3 Parishes Walks and the Carnival and hopefully these events will be just as successful this year.
Cllr. J. Allin added that Warsop Parish Council have been working very hard in the last 12 months to bring projects for improvements in Warsop to fruition.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 6.45pm
